Students Share Tips on College Transfer Credits November 30, 2009

As more students attend community colleges, or pursue 2-year degree programs either online or on-campus, they are increasingly concerned with their college transfer credits. Largely due to the struggling economy, many students are attending less expensive state, community, or online colleges for two-year degrees in order to save money in the long run. Once they complete those two years, they transfer to a different school in order to continue their higher education pursuits.

With so many students planning on being college transfers, credits become of the utmost importance. Any college transfer plans may be a waste of time and money if the credits won’t be accepted at the colleges and universities they plan to attend in the future.

Like anything else in life, preparation and organization are essential to a successful college transfer plan. Or are they? Here’s a thoughtful video from some transfer students at Bowling Green University, discussing the transfer process and offering suggestions. One student said she had a plan; another said he didn’t, yet they both clearly felt their experiences worked out with great success.
